- Vinh Le, component 4a, My California authors: Tobar, Steinbeck, Humes, and Warshaw.
- In Vinh's reading by Steinbeck, he discovered the history of California and where it got its name from. He describes Garcia Rrodrigues de Montavlo's discovery of this "lush and fruitful paradise, a Utopian island in the western seas." This relates to the assignments in projects 2-3 because it is important to know about the state in which you live and all these wonderfully diverse cities are located.
- Vihn helped me understand my true heritage by telling about the history of California. I did not realize how special each little secluded beach or the meaning behind a name was.
- We are all so wrapped up in our lives, that sometimes we forget to stop and pay tribute to who we really are. There is so much about the places we call home that we don't know about. I think it would do us all some good to learn a bit more about where we come from.
- Projects 2-3 helped me a lot with reading the textbook because it allowed me to research and familiarize myself with some of the areas that were discussed in the book.
